After your procedure you will have a bulky bandage applied. This generally stays on for 48 hours and can be taken down by your own practice nurse at your health centre or at a dressing clinic if this is part of your package.

Thereafter a simple dressing will be applied until the wound heals. In most cases this takes 10-14 days.

Pain relief after minor surgery is usually not needed but if required simple paracetamol should suffice. For more major procedures post-op pain medication such as Voltarol can be prescribed.

After the dressing is removed gentle mobilisation is encouraged and this can be increased over the following weeks.

Six weeks following your procedure a review appointment will be organised, either by telephone or face to face.
